Our very own library

I’ve been wanting a Little Free Library for a couple of years now (in fact, I asked for one for my last birthday but so far in advance that everyone–I included–forgot).

I love the communal aspect of it, love that it gives me a way to share the piles of books I somehow acquire.

At any rate, I picked up a small but sturdy shelf from the curb earlier this summer and my father-in-law promptly turned it into this beauty below.  We set it up outside on Friday and have already seen quite a turnover in books!

I registered for an official charter sign, which is hopefully on its way.  And I picked up a little blackboard to affix to the side so people can leave notes if they want.

So fun!

I'm middle school English teacher in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Before moving to Asia, I reported statewide news for a Pennsylvania public radio station. I've lived in five countries and traveled to dozens. I really enjoy rearranging my furniture.
